Text 2
I combined two other images I had saved and overlayed some type again. This first image is calm and tranquil:
Lyrics from an old song came to mind when looking at the image. I thought it would also be interesting to overlay and image texture of a contradicting seascape. The seascape that was overlayed was one of depth, darkness, and doom.
Again, here is the image without the overlayed seascape.
As before, I can't take credit for these images... I'm only working with them to give me inspiration for one's that I'll shoot.

More Text
After seeing my last post, Ms. O encouraged me to work more with text. It's 1:40 am, and I have a thousand things I should be doing... But I decided to try it out anyway.
I had found this great image a while back:
There seems to be a lot of movement and sadness with this image, so I thought the poem "When We Two Parted" by George Gordon to be appropriate. I also added a textured layer, which sort of breaks up the background, dividing it in to pieces.
I also tried one without the texture, because I thought image might be a little busy.
I'm going to keep working.

A Sweater.
So, basically... I shot these with the school Nikon. They came out really nicely. As always, I used the 'M' setting on the camera, in order to have control over aperture and shutterspeed, and make sure I got images in RAW format. Naturally, the Nikon shoots on Raw when on the 'M' setting. However, someone must have switched it. I didn't think to look, and went on shooting, thinking I was getting images in RAW. I wasn't.
So, it was my fault. And it's a bummer. I suppose I'll reshoot tuesday. However...
Here's one image, just so you can see. No editing, really.

Frank Warren (Artist of Text)
Frank Warren does some great work with text. He's started a project called "Post Secret" in which people send anonymous postcards with their "secrets" written.
For examples see:
http://postsecret.blogspot.com/
We've been working with "truisms"
What is more true, more real, and more powerful than a person making themselves vulnerable and opening up--sharing their dark secrets.
Also, I believe Colleen did a very similar project.

- noun
- a statement that is obviously true
